STUBE WORKSHOP: Health for All 20.10. – 22.10.2023

In this interdisciplinary workshop we take Sustainable Development Goal SDG 3 into focus: Health for All. How can healthy lives be ensured worldwide and how can well-being for all people at all ages be promoted? What does health mean to every individual? Is there a human right to health?

We explore the interconnection of social, cultural, environmental, agricultural as well as political and economic aspects. Zero hunger, clean water and primary health care are main premises. Still life expectancy varies immensely worldwide and child as well as maternal mortality are big issues.

We compare different public health care systems worldwide and discuss the importance of (health) education/literacy, science and prevention. Moreover, how do climate change and migration affect global health? How do humanitarian aid and developmental politics support the implementation of SDG 3? What is the role and responsibility of international organizations like WHO, UN, UNEP, WHA UNICEF, the World Bank, different NGOs and global companies?

Conclusion: Health for all needs to be targeted to ensure human dignity.
